Guest Coffee Projekt 2025

Guest Coffee Projekt is a collaboration between coffee shops and roasteries to take care of specific projects at origin, supporting small coffee producers, and the necessities they have to keep improving the quality of the coffee they produce.

Guest Coffee Projekt was born in México in 2024 with the participation of 3 coffee shops, one in México city: Muri Muri, one in Xalapa: Pera Café, and one in Coatepec: Casual Café. We worked together with these coffee shops to procure fermentation tanks for the producers we work with, improving the quality of the honey processed coffee.

This year, we are supporting Elizabeth Colorado Hernandez, a small coffee producer from Rincón Toningo, Veracruz, México. Our goal is to build a solar dryer for her, enough to store 6 solar beds, where the coffee will be protected against the rain and humidity, procuring a more controlled environment for processing the coffee. In 2024, we had in Veracruz, México, an anomaly regarding coffee production: the harvest was delayed for 2 months, and with it, the whole process was affected. While on normal conditions, there is a proper order on the processing of coffee; harvest, fermentation, depulping, and drying. During this year, there were moments when activities overlapped with each other. On the one hand, producers were drying coffee, and on the other, coffee still needed to be harvested. This caused that some days they had to decide not to put the coffee to dry on the sun, as they were going to be harvesting the coffee on the farm.

This particular project aims to provide a solution to this problem, providing the tools to make front to the variability and constant climate change that we are living around the coffee farms.
